My story is short and simple: God has called me to stand in the gap for these kids. It’s an honor and a privilege for me to give what time and resources I have so that Gods healing power can work in them, allowing them to blossom and grow and be freed from the darkness they were in.
I often use the analogy that these kids are like caterpillars: they come to us damaged, hurt, and looking for peace. Cherish house is God’s cocoon where they can come to feel safe, loved, and happy, free from the pain and hurt of their old lives. When God brings them to Reclaim 13, He heals them, educates them, and helps them recover, and covers them with His love and grace, allowing them to transform into the Godly butterflies they were meant to be.
Matthew 25:40 says, "That which you do for the least of these, you have done it for me.” It is my honor to serve at Cherish House. I feel privileged to be able to do what I can for these girls, though, in truth, I am more often blessed by them.
