Reclaim13 is a non-profit working to end the cycle of sexual exploitation than can lead to child sex trafficking.  We work in the areas of Healing, Prevention Education, and Community Engagement.

Like some of the other volunteers, I have daughters. My girls are of infinite value to me, and most of what I do in my life is oriented around their happiness and well-being. Both my girls are currently young teenagers; in fact, one of them recently turned 13. Their being exploited in this way is the worst possible thing I can imagine. That’s why, when I first found out about Reclaim13, I knew that I could not stand by and do nothing while these things were happening to children just like my own – children who have infinite worth to a heavenly Father who created them and loves them enough that He gave His son for them.

I first found out about Reclaim13 through my at job at Cultivate, the agency that does all of Reclaim13’s brand and creative work. At first I didn’t really think there was anything I could do, but then I was asked to help with some technology issues at Cherish House. After meeting other volunteers, I realized there were actually quite a few different ways to be involved. I’m now on the Emergency Response Team, have acted as security at some events, have spoken at the Gala, and have even hobbled through a 5K to help raise money.

It’s my hope that those reading these stories will be inspired to join in with the vital work that Reclaim13 is doing. I really believe that if we all stand together against exploitation in its many forms then we will have the power to #Take13Back.
