"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." — Genesis 50:20 NIV
In late 2014, I felt a profound tug on my heart to open a group home for young girls. At the time, I wasn’t sure what that might look like and I certainly didn’t know how to go about it. What I did know, without question, was that I was being called by God to be involved in the lives of these young girls in a unique way. In the deepest corner of my heart, I knew why. The question was how.
In God’s perfect timing, I was introduced to Reclaim13, an organization that serves young girls who have experienced neglect, abuse and exploitation. I knew that I had been prepared in many ways throughout my life to walk along side the young girls who come to Cherish House. Just as God had promised, those evil things that were intended to harm me had also prepared me, and were being made into something good.
I am so thankful that I listened to that tug on my heart a few years back. The good work that I am blessed to be a part of at Cherish House is exactly what God always intended it to be – the transforming and the saving of many lives.
