Years before I came to know anything about Reclaim13, God had already placed a passionate desire in my heart to see women whole, healed, sure of their worth, and living with dignity. I can clearly remember being 13. Just like any teenager, I had hopes, dreams and aspirations, but those dreams were broken. God healed me and brought me to a new place and because of those experiences, developed in me a deep empathy for those whose choices were taken from them as children. When I learned about Reclaim13, becoming involved in the capacity of volunteer CFO and working for the restoration of young women caught in the cycle of sexual exploitation was an easy choice for me.

I believe very strongly in the community that is Reclaim13 - a community of people who love and support the exploited, who know that love is greater than fear, and who believe in the God of Isaiah 61. I feel privileged to be part of a community of people who have heard and answered God’s call to join Him in His work of justice. I have chosen to work with Reclaim13 because I know too much to live in denial or apathy. Instead, I am compelled by the grace of God to use the resources and talents He has given me to show victims of sexual abuse that there is true love - the Father's love - and that they can have a future and a hope.

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners...to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated...Instead of their shame, my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice...and everlasting joy will be theirs." (Isaiah 61:1-7)
